Could you be our next Musical Director?
We are currently seeking a Musical Director due to the retirement of the current post-holder. We are looking for someone with experience and enthusiasm for brass bands with leadership skills and good musicality to develop the band and encourage new players across the Training Band and the senior band.
For expressions of interest in the position and/or further information about the band, please contact the Chairman, John at chairman@cityofbathbrassband.co.uk.
The band plays at many different events in and around the city, including summer concerts in the local parks and gardens, and performances in local churches and community halls. Please see our events page to find out where we will be performing next.
We also compete in national and regional brass band contests and are currently in the third section of the West of England region.
We have a training band where members can gain experience of playing in a brass band before moving on into the main band. The training band is a performing band and plays several events during the year.
We are proud to have the Mayor of Bath as Patron of the band and have the privilege of being able to use the complete City of Bath coat of arms as our band crest.
We are always looking for new players to join our band. If you are a beginner or intermediate player and would like to experience playing in a brass band, we have a training band which provides a great introduction to the band. If you have never played before and would like to try playing brass, please enquire about our beginner group. No experience or instruments required.
Our Training Band performed at the finish line at the Holburne Museum for the RUHX Walk of Life on Sat 11th May. The sponsored walk helps raise vital funds for Bath’s Royal United Hospital
A small group from City of Bath Brass Band played at a tree planting at Bath’s Royal Victoria Park to commemorate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and honour Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The ceremony which took place on 15th November included the National Anthem led by members of the band.
